Boston Calling 2019: Travis Scott, Twenty One Pilots to Headline

For its tenth edition, New England’s premier music festival is pulling out all the stops. The Boston Calling 2019 lineup was officially revealed this week with Travis Scott, Twenty One Pilots and Tame Impala pegged as headliners.

The festival will take over the Harvard Athletic Complex May 24-26. It will also feature performances by Logic, Hozier, Janelle Monae, Odesza, Brandi Carlile and more. The big announcement is the latest in the recent festival-news frenzy. It follows gatherings like Coachella and Bonnaroo, which also revealed their lineups this month.

For Tame Impala, Boston Calling marks their second major gig on the 2019 festival circuit. The Aussie rockers will take over the California desert as a Coachella headliner with Childish Gambino and Ariana Grande. Fellow headliners Travis Scott and Twenty One Pilots have not lined up any other festivals to date. However, both continue to ride the success of current tours. Scott’s Astroworld Tour, which launched in November, has dozens of shows scheduled until early spring. Meanwhile, Twenty One Pilots will commence the second leg of their Bandito Tour weeks before Boston Calling. After their appearance at the festival, they’ll remain on the road touring through June.

Per usual, Boston Calling 2019 will also include a Comedy and Entertainment lineup. On that bill are current and former SNL cast members Michael Che, Melissa Villasenor, Jenny Slate and Fred Armisen. Singer-songwriter Imogen Heap and the Boston Ballet also comprise the lineup.

Boston Calling has become one of the fastest-growing music festivals in the country. It debuted in 2013 and originally ran annual spring and fall editions until 2016. Since then, it’s been limited to only one weekend a year each May. However, this has not altered its strong attendance numbers and popularity. It’s appealed to fans of all music genres over the years and seen artists like Eminem, Fun., Lorde, Childish Gambino, Jason Isbell, Khalid, The Killers and Sia grace the stage. An estimated 40,000 fans attend the gathering each year.

Boston Calling 2019 tickets are available for full-weekend admission or individual days. Find yours by session here: Three-Day Pass • Friday Pass • Saturday Pass • Sunday Pass.
