Rap/hip-hop artists Wiz Khalifa and Rae Sremmurd are joining forces this summer. The pair will embark on the co-headlining Dazed and Blazed tour, promoter Live Nation announced today.
The amphitheater-only outing kicks off July 21 in Detroit and runs nearly six weeks before concluding August 30 in Phoenix. Over two dozen other cities are on the itinerary, including Cincinnati, Tampa, Hartford, Dallas and Atlanta. An early tour stop in Toronto marks the lone Canadian gig on the trek. Rising artists Lil Skies and OT Genasis will join in support.
Wiz Khalifa and Rae Sremmurd will also perform at the KS 107.5 Summer Jam 21 in Englewood, Colorado on August 21, allowing local fans the chance to see the duo, who will otherwise not perform in the area on the tour.
Concert-goers can expect to hear Wiz Khalifa perform hits that put him on the map like “Black and Yellow,” “Young, Wild & Free” and “See You Again,” as well as tracks from his forthcoming sixth album Rolling Papers 2, due out mid-July. Rae Sremmurd, comprised of brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, are also on the road supporting a new album release. Their third studio album SR3MM dropped earlier this month to debut chart success. It follows their first two Platinum-certified LP’s SremmLife and SremmLife 2.
They aren’t the only hip-hop powerhouses teaming up for a lengthy tour. News of the Dazed and Blazed tour follows yesterday’s announcement of Drake’s Aubrey and the Three Amigos Tour with Migos, whereas Kendrick Lamar and SZA are in the midst of their Championship Tour presented by mutual label Top Dawg Entertainment. After wrapping up their summer trek with Wiz, Rae Sremmurd will have a quick turnaround before returning to the road to join Childish Gambino’s fall tour, which runs through the month of September. They previously appeared alongside The Weeknd on his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour.
