Perennial powerhouse production Hamilton sees the most drastic price drop of over $300, or roughly 37%, for a highly sought-after ticket for a Mother’s Day matinee. While a get-in price will run customers a rather hefty $522, it is still considerably less than the $828 minimum one would pay to see the performance a week earlier. Last year’s breakout hit Dear Evan Hansen saw a $50 decrease in get-in price on Mother’s Day, which is good news for theater junkies itching to see the Tony-winning musical.

The next-highest savings comes from rookie production Mean Girls; the Broadway adaptation of Tina Fey’s hit 2004 film has Mother’s Day matinee tickets going for about 17% less than this coming Sunday. In the few weeks since it premiered at Broadway’s Virginia/August Wilson Theatre, Mean Girls has quickly become a stage sensation. This is due to the cult following of the film that transitioned to Broadway coupled with rave reviews that led the show to garner 12 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical.

Other notable shows with lower Mother’s Day ticket prices are The Phantom of the Opera, Waitress, The Book of Mormon and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Wicked, Kinky BootsCome From Away and Aladdin all fared cheaper by a few dollars, but offered Mother’s Day savings nonetheless.

While a majority of musicals saw Mother’s Day prices decrease, a few broke that trend, with minimum prices marked higher than the week prior. Long-running Disney production The Lion King saw get-in prices increase $11, whereas the company’s newest stage adaptation, Frozen, saw a sizable increase of $31 per ticket come Mother’s Day. Hello, Dolly! saw a slight jump as well.
