Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood to headline 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival

The 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival has unveiled its star-studded lineup. Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey and Jack White are among the many notable artists stopping by the Las Vegas-based festival this September, it was announced Tuesday.

Completing the main lineup is Shawn Mendes, Kelly Clarkson, Imagine Dragons, Panic! At the Disco, Jason Aldean, Kygo, Sam Smith, Luke Bryan, Rae Sremmurd, Logic and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The diverse group of artists will unite for the two-day festival at T-Mobile Arena September 21 and 22.

Each of the confirmed performers will bring something special to the table, with many currently touring or celebrating new music releases, including Mendes, Underwood, and Logic. Both Timberlake and White will mark iHeartRadio Fest as the latest in a string of major appearances this year. Timberlake dazzled U.S. Bank Stadium in February as the headliner of the Super Bowl LII halftime show in a lead-up to his wildly popular Man of the Woods Tour. White, on the other hand has been a familiar face on the festival circuit in addition to solo shows. He’s already made headlining appearances at Boston Calling, Shaky Knees Festival and the Governors Ball. His fall itinerary includes performances at Lollapalooza and Pilgrimage Festival before iHeartRadio.

Carey’s appearance at the festival signals a more permanent presence in Las Vegas. The famed diva is slated to begin her newest residency show The Butterfly Returns this July with select dates running through September at the Caesars Palace Colosseum.

For Aldean, the festival will likely take on a different meaning as it will take place nearly a year after the deadly shooting at Route 91 Music Festival. The country star was performing on stage when a gunman opened fire at the nearby Mandalay Bay Hotel and targeted concertgoers, killing 59 and injuring hundreds more. In the months since the tragedy, Aldean and other country artists have continued to pay tribute to the healing Las Vegas community and the victims of the attack.

In addition to the main stage performances, the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival will feature the return of the Daytime Stage. The alternative venue will highlight some of the industry’s most up and coming artists, having welcomed the likes of Julia Michaels, Niall Horan, Migos, Halsey and Khalid last year. This year’s crop of Daytime Stage performers include Lil Uzi Vert, Dua Lipa, 5 Seconds of Summer, Dustin Lynch, Belly, Bobby Bones and the Raging Idiots and Greta Van Fleet. Logic will pull double duty as a performer in both lineups.
