Country music power couple Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are giving their fans the perfect Christmas gift: their own holiday album! The pair announced the collaboration, titled Christmas Together, via Facebook live video, where they also revealed the album’s cozy cover photo.
“It was fun. It was an absolute joy to get to go with this woman into the studio and sing. [I] really, really enjoy this record and very proud of this record,” Brooks said.
“When you’re making an album yourself, it’s hard enough to find those songs that you like yourself. When you’re doing a duet album you double that because both of you have to love the songs equally,” Yearwood said of creating the album. “When it comes to Christmas, there’s so many traditional songs to choose from. I like to mix it up…Garth wrote some things for this record. So it’s a mix of things you know and things you’ve never heard before.”
This will be the couple’s first joint album, though they have often collaborated on singles, including successful duets “Love Will Always Win” and “Squeeze Me In.” Yearwood has also joined her husband on the road this year to perform their hits in one of the best-selling concert tours of 2016.
The pair is familiar with holiday records, as each has released their own festive albums as solo artists prior to their marriage in 2005. Christmas Together will be Brooks’ fourth holiday album and Yearwood’s second.
The record is set to release on Nov. 11, the same day Brooks’ latest compilation box set, The Ultimate Collection, is released exclusively at Target. Pick it up as the perfect stocking stuffer for the country fan in your life!
