The annual Pilgrimage Music Festival has unveiled its star-studded lineup for this year’s installment. Chris Stapleton, Jack White and Lionel Richie will serve as headliners, with dozens of other artists pegged to appear during the two-day fest.
Stapleton returns to the stage after appearing at the festival’s inaugural weekend in 2015. His headlining gig falls in between dates on his massive All American Road Show tour, which runs through early November. Pilgrimage also marks one of many festival appearances the Grammy winner is committed to this year. Fans can also catch him at country-centric gatherings like CMA Fest, Country 500, and Bayou Country Superfest, as well as on tour with The Eagles on select dates.
Fellow headliner White is also making the rounds on the festival circuit in addition to his own headlining tour. White was previously announced as a lead performer at Beale Street, Shakey Knees, Boston Calling, Governors Ball, XFest, and Lollapalooza music festivals.
Richie’s headlining slot comes as a pleasant surprise for local fans. The “Hello” singer’s performance schedule for the remainder of the year is nearly exclusively dedicated to his Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater. He has most recently remained in the spotlight as a judge on the ABC reboot of American Idol, alongside Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.
Now in its fourth year, Pilgrimage Music Festival has become one of the fastest-growing festivals on the circuit. It also remains true to its original mission of celebrating an array of musical genres including Americana, rock, country, indie, pop, jazz, bluegrass and blues. This musical variety is evident once more based on the eclectic 2018 lineup.
Other notable artists featured in this year’s lineup include Elle King, Hozier, Bleachers, Counting Crows, Brandi Carlile, and Mat Kearney. The 2018 Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival will take place September 22-23 in Franklin, Tennessee.
