Chicago and Rick Springfield Team Up for Summer Tour

Prolific rockers Chicago and Rick Springfield are joining forces on an expansive tour next summer. The two acts will share the stage on their 2020 North American tour, which begins next June.

The tour gets underway on the West Coast – officially launching June 12 in Concord, California – and heads across the country before wrapping August 1 in Rosemont, Illinois. In total, 26 dates are on the agenda for the seasoned performers. Notable markets that make up the itinerary include Detroit, Atlanta, Kansas City, LA and Boston.

Rock Hall of Famers Chicago are no strangers to sharing the stage with fellow talent. Their decision to tour with “Jessie’s Girl” hitmaker Springfield follows recent co-headlining tours with REO Speedwagon, the Doobie Brothers and Earth, Wind and Fire. Meanwhile, Springfield has appeared in concert opposite other 80s powerhouses like Night Ranger, Tommy Tutone, The Romantics and the late Eddie Money.

Both acts returned to the studio for new albums this year. Springfield released his 17th album in April, a revisiting of his biggest hits with new orchestral arrangements dubbed Orchestrating My Life. Chicago recently dropped their new holiday effort Chicago Christmas just in time for the season.
