Years after completing what was touted as their final tour, M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce are coming back for more. They are confirmed to perform stadium gigs across the U.S. in 2020 with fellow rockers Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The trek will bring the rock powerhouses to over two dozen ballparks and NFL stadiums in a two-month span. It all kicks off June 21 in San Antonio and runs through early September, when they’ll close out the trip in Los Angeles. Along the way, M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce and company will make stops in Houston, Chicago, Boston, Denver, Phoenix, Buffalo and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rumors of the band’s reunion began circulating after a cryptic message was shared on their official Twitter account. However, a potential tour initially seemed out of the cards for the prolific rockers. They preceded their massive 2014-15 Final Tour by signing a “cessation of touring agreement,” an alleged legal document that prohibited them from playing any future shows beyond 2015. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Legally, we can’t play again,” bassist Nikki Sixx told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> in the midst of their last tour. “The only loophole is if all four band members agreed to do it, we could override our own contract. But we know that will never happen. There is no amount of money that would ever make me do it again because I have such pride in how we’re ending it.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That change in tune comes roughly five years after the band played nearly 160 shows worldwide as an apparent farewell. However, they are not the first to return to the road after previously announcing retirement. The Who, Kiss, Cher, Phil Collins, Garth Brooks, Shania Twain and more have all marketed sizable tours as their final outings, only to come back and hit the road again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for supporting acts Def Leppard and Poison, they have remained some of the most consistent performers from the glam rock era. The former had one of the best-selling tours of 2018<\/a> when they teamed up with Journey for a massive North American tour<\/a>. They’ve most recently embarked on a Las Vegas residency and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year. Poison took a five-year touring hiatus in 2012, but fell back into the groove in 2017 when they shared the stage with Def Leppard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
