Taylor Swift knows how to surprise her fans, and did just that upon announcing her latest tour. The songstress revealed that she will support her latest album Lover<\/em> next summer on a festival-heavy outing dubbed Lover Fest.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Swift will kick things off June 20 in Belgium and headline festivals in Poland, Denmark and France, among other countries, with more international dates to be announced later. She has only four U.S. shows scheduled for the summer as of now: Lover Fest West held at Los Angeles’ Sofi Stadium and Lover Fest East at the Boston-area Gillette Stadium.<\/p>\n

“The Lover album is open fields, sunsets, and summer. I want to perform it in a way that feels authentic,” Swift shared<\/a> in a social media post. “I want to go to some places I haven’t been and play festivals. Where we didn’t have festivals, we made some.”<\/p>\n

There is no word yet if Swift will announce more North American stadium shows or if her coastal shows will stand alone. However, there appears to be a very good possibility of her nabbing headlining slots at major festivals across the country. Outside of 2015’s Rock in Rio USA and two iHeartRadio Music Festival appearances, Swift has not headlined a major US music festival since her early days as a country artist.<\/p>\n

Swift dropped her seventh studio album Lover<\/em> last month, with many critics praising it as one of the best in her career. In particular, tracks like “The Archer” and “Lover” were hailed as a breath of fresh air for Swift. It appears that she’ll keep things refreshing on the road next year as fans wait in the wings.<\/p>\n
