Common has a busy summer ahead, as he’ll be launching his headlining Let Love Have the Last Word Tour. The rapper will visit 11 North American cities on the trek, which is his first proper tour since 2009. <\/p>\n

The brief tour kicks off July 11 in Denver and extends three weeks before wrapping July 26 in Newport Beach, California. Common will headline venues primarily on the West Coast, including Seattle, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. He also has a lone Canadian gig scheduled in Vancouver.<\/p>\n

The tour comes in support of Common’s upcoming album, Let Love Have the Last Word<\/em>. His anticipated twelfth LP, and follow-up to 2016’s Black America Again<\/em>, is due out later this summer. The trek also comes on the heels of the release of Common’s second memoir, which also shares a title with his latest record. Shortly after its release earlier this month, it appeared on the New York Times<\/em> bestseller list. Common previously became a New York Times<\/em> bestselling author with his 2012 memoir One Day It’ll All Make Sense<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In addition to his latest tour dates, Common will be joining forces with regional symphony orchestras this summer. He’ll spread his schedule throughout the country for these shows, with dates planned in Atlanta, Chicago and San Diego. On top of that, he’s slated to appear at California’s Smokin’ Grooves Fest and the Jazz Winnipeg Festival within the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
