Straight No Chaser are giving touring another shot. The all-male a capella group have announced their One Shot Tour, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of their signing to Atlantic Records.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
The One Shot Tour kicks off October 26 in Minnesota and will hit nearly 50 markets through the end of the year. It will conclude with a New Year’s Eve show in Seattle. Along the way, SNC will make stops in major markets like Albuquerque, Denver, Jacksonville, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Detroit, St. Louis and Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
Their latest tour marks a decade in the music business, a milestone that led the jaunt to earning it’s name. “In 2008 we had one shot to leave our jobs, reunite the group, record an album and tour the world,” they wrote in a tweet. “10 years later we’re celebrating that … we took our shot and our dreams came true.”<\/p>\n
Straight No Chaser originally formed in 1996 while its members were all attending Indiana University. They’ll perform at their old stomping grounds in Bloomington, Indiana on the trek in what is sure to be one of the most popular dates of the tour. In addition to their alma mater, they’ll also headline venues in four other Indiana cities: South Bend, Fort Wayne, Evansville, and Indianapolis. A total of five shows are on the docket for their three-day stint in Indianapolis, one of the tour’s final stops. Multiple shows are also scheduled in Chicago, Cleveland, and Hershey, Penn.<\/p>\n
The massive tour is the latest in a long stretch of shows from the a cappella masters. This summer they’re hitting the road to play 15 cities throughout July. They will then head overseas come September for a European leg of the One Shot Tour, which will bring them to nine countries including Ireland, France, Norway, and England, before beginning the North American leg shortly after. SNC’s upcoming hectic touring schedule nearly mirrors last year’s, which consisted of a summer co-headlining tour with Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox followed by a lengthy fall tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n In the ten years since being added to Atlantic Records’ label, Straight No Chaser have released six studio albums, including three acclaimed holiday LPs. Their last full studio effort, I’ll Have Another…Christmas Album<\/em>, was released in 2016. An EP titled Six Pack: Volume 3<\/em> dropped last July.
