April showers bring May flowers…and May concerts! As summer nears and the weather warms, outdoor concerts are beginning to pop up across the country. Take advantage of it and check out these notable concert tours that brings the music outside.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Top Seven Outdoor May Concerts<\/h4>\n

1) Taylor Swift – Reputation Tour<\/h5>\n

\"Taylor<\/p>\n

In the three years since Swift’s 1989 World Tour, both her personal and musical reputation went through the ringer. Now she’s back for her third consecutive stadium tour, which kicks off May 8 in Arizona. For her latest endeavor, Swift recruited fellow pop songstresses Camila Cabello and Charli XCX to join in support. She spends the month performing in West Coast cities including Seattle, Denver, and two-night stints in Santa Clara and Pasadena.<\/p>\n

2) Kenny Chesney – A Trip Around the Sun Tour<\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Country megastar Kenny Chesney took a break from touring last year<\/a> but is back in a big way. He’ll headline nearly 20 major North American stadiums and over a dozen outdoor amphitheaters on his Trip Around the Sun Tour<\/a>. The trek began in late April will run through the end of August with a two-night finale at Gillette Stadium. Eight amphitheater shows are scheduled for this month, including venues in Virginia Beach, Austin and Charlotte. In addition, three stadiums are on the itinerary in May, beginning with U.S. Bank Stadium on May 5. The “Get Along” singer will then take over AT&T Stadium and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the coming weeks. Chesney is bringing along Thomas Rhett<\/a>, Old Dominion and Brandon Lay for the stadium gigs, and will alternate supporting acts for the remainder of the shows.<\/p>\n

3) Kendrick Lamar – TDE’s Championship Tour<\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Grammy Award and now Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar is bringing his musical genius on the road this spring. He’ll headline the Championship Tour presented by Top Dawg Entertainment<\/a>. The label recruited an all-star roster<\/a> of artists to join the tour. Joining Lamar is SZA, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, SiR, Lance Skiiwalker and more. Though it will only last a short six weeks, the A-list trek will leave its mark. An impressive 18 of the 27 total shows take place this month, and all but three of the May concerts occur at outdoor venues. It all begins May 4 in Vancouver and later heads to Raleigh, Dallas, San Diego, Atlanta and Virginia Beach among other cities. Also this month, Kendrick Lamar will serve as a headliner at Hangout Music Festival<\/a>, held beachside in Gulf Shores, Alabama.<\/p>\n

4) Dave Matthews Band – 2018 Summer Tour<\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Rock veterans Dave Matthews Band<\/a> return for another summer trek. They kick off their four-month tour May 18 with a trio of shows in Texas before hitting four more cities across the South by the end of the month. The tour continues through September with nearly 50 cities on the itinerary, including Cincinnati, Chicago, Toronto, Tampa and Los Angeles. While they are a perennial touring act, DMB will now have new material to perform this time around. They confirmed that a new album was in the works earlier this year<\/a> when announcing tour dates. It was only recently revealed that the LP, titled Come Tomorrow<\/em>, will be available June 8. Fans can rest easy knowing they’ll hear more variety on the upcoming tour, as it has now been six years since DMB’s last album.<\/p>\n

5) Lynyrd Skynyrd – Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour<\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Joining the likes of Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>, Elton John<\/a> and Paul Simon<\/a>, legendary southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd<\/a> are embarking on one final tour in 2018. Their 30-date farewell tour kicks off May 4 in West Palm Beach, Florida. They’ve recruited a number of notable acts to join them on select dates, including Marshall Tucker Band, Hank Williams Jr., Kid Rock and Charlie Daniels Band. They’ll make stops at outdoor amphitheaters in Chicago, Raleigh, Phoenix, Dallas, Toronto and Cincinnati among other cities. However, perhaps the tour’s greatest show will be their August 31 gig in “Sweet Home Alabama,” at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Birmingham.<\/p>\n

6) Steely Dan & The Doobie Brothers – The Summer of Living Dangerously Tour<\/h5>\n

Donald Fagen’s Steely Dan<\/a> is teaming up with the Doobie Brothers for a co-headlining North American tour that will hit over three dozen cities. While multiple major arenas are listed on the tour’s itinerary, the pair are bringing the music outdoors for the month of May. They’ll kick off the trek May 10 at Charlotte’s PNC Music Pavilion and hit surrounding cities across the South like Tampa, Raleigh, Nashville and Austin.<\/p>\n

7) Post Malone<\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Breakout rapper Post Malone<\/a> is celebrating the release of his sophomore album Beerbongs & Bentleys<\/em> with a spring North American tour. The trek began in late April to coincide with the album’s official release on April 27. Outdoor stops on the tour this month include Jacksonville’s Daily’s Place Amphitheater, Boston’s Xfinity Center, Charlotte’s PNC Music Pavilion and Toronto’s Budweiser Stage. Joining the “Rockstar” rapper on the trek is 21 Savage. In addition, Post Malone will appear at both Beale Street Music Festival<\/a> and Flyover 2018<\/a> this month.<\/p>\n
