Willie Nelson will soon be on the road again. The country legend has added 15 winter dates to his ongoing touring schedule.
Nelson will kick off the New Year with a stretch of California shows. He’ll begin in San Diego January 3 and spend two weeks traveling throughout the Golden State. The singer nabbed a three-night stint headlining The Fillmore in San Francisco, and will also visit Bakersfield, Redding, Stockton and Ontario. He’ll take a few weeks off before resuming on February 11 for a round of East Coast shows. Nelson will perform in Savannah, Georgia and finish the trek with six Florida gigs in ten days.
Following his winter run, Nelson is booked to join Chris Stapleton’s All American Roadshow at Globe Life Park in March. A month later, he’ll perform at North Carolina’s MerleFest and link up with Stapleton yet again for his Kentucky benefit concert in Lexington.
A relentless performance schedule has gotten to the 86-year-old in the past. He was forced to cancel several tour dates after battling the flu in 2018. In August, he announced that was cancelling the remainder of his fall tour, citing a “breathing problem.” However, Nelson revealed the following day he would go on with the trek as scheduled after a few weeks of rest.
He is slated to take the stage with Kacey Musgraves at the CMA Awards and perform several shows this month. Once his November schedule wraps, Nelson will be on hiatus until January when the new tour launches.
