Vampire Weekend Announce Father of the Bride Tour

After a six-year hiatus, Vampire Weekend will embark on a new headlining tour. The band revealed dates for their North American Father of the Bride Tour, set to launch this summer.

Vampire Weekend will mark their return to the road in May with an appearance at Alabama’s Hangout Festival. Shortly after, they’ll kick off the Father of the Bride Tour in Toronto on June 5. The outing consists of 35 dates spanning four months. The itinerary includes stops in Chicago, New York, Milwaukee, Seattle and San Diego, among other cities, plus a two-night stint in Austin at ACL Live. Vampire Weekend will wrap the trek October 8 with a gig at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

The tour comes in support of the band’s upcoming album of the same name. There is no official release date for the record yet, though it’s rumored to be out this spring. However, eager fans were given a taste at the group’s new music when they dropped surprise tracks “Harmony Hall” and “2021.” Listen to the new songs below.

Father of the Bride is the fourth album from the indie rockers and the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2013’s Grammy-winning Modern Vampires of the City. While the Father of the Bride Tour and album have been a long time coming, fans may not have to wait so much in the future. In an interview with Beats 1 DJ Matt Wilkinson, frontman Ezra Koenig confirmed he’s already been working on the band’s fifth album.
