Train and Goo Goo Dolls Team Up for Co-Headlining Summer Tour

To celebrate their milestone 20 years in music, rock bands Train and Goo Goo Dolls are joining forces for a massive, co-headlining tour next summer, Live Nation announced Friday.

The tour will visit over three dozen U.S. cities, beginning June 7 in Auburn, Washington. From there, the rockers will invade amphitheaters in major markets like Kansas City, Charlotte, Dallas, Irvine Tampa and Cincinnati before concluding the trek in Boston on August 17. Allen Stone will serve as an opening act for the co-headliners.

The official tour announcement coincides with the release of Train’s first greatest hits album, which includes the Grammy-winning “Drops of Jupiter” and “Hey, Soul Sister.” Over the course of their 20-year career, the San Francisco-based rockers have sold over ten million albums and garnered a dozen Top 10 hits.

Train’s co-headliner has seen equal success in the past two decades. Goo Goo Dolls recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album Dizzy Up the Girl with an eight-week tour. The hit album catapulted Goo Goo Dolls onto the mainstream map thanks to Top 40 hits “Broadway,” “Slide,” Dizzy,” “Black Balloon,” and Platinum-selling signature song “Iris.”

Both bands are no strangers to large co-headlining summer tours. Train spent this past summer alongside Hall & Oates while Goo Goo Dolls teamed up with Phillip Phillips for 2017’s Long Way Home Tour.
