In the days leading up to music’s biggest night, prominent artists are expected to hold intimate New York concerts as a special treat for fans. Eminem, Thirty Seconds to Mars, The National, Childish Gambino and Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds will take over New York City’s Irving Plaza from January 24-28, promoter Live Nation announced today.
The five-night schedule of concerts will celebrate the distinct musical influence of the featured artists in an intimate setting. The stacked lineup of shows culminate in the 60th Annual Grammy Awards on January 28, which return to New York City for the first time in 15 years.
Thirty Seconds to Mars kicks off the concert series on January 24, with The National, Eminem, Childish Gambino and Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds following suit in that order for the remaining four nights.
With the exception of Thirty Seconds to Mars, each of this year’s participating artists are previous Grammy winners or nominees. Eminem is the most decorated performer in the lineup with 15 Grammys, an Academy Award, and slew of other impressive accolades to his name. Childish Gambino and The National are both hopefuls at this year’s ceremony, with the former being up for five awards including Record and Album of the Year.
The five Irving Plaza concerts are not the only notable gigs around, either. Artists like Little Big Town, Miley Cyrus, John Legend and Sam Smith will take part in a special Grammy salute to Sir Elton John at Madison Square Garden on January 30.
