Peter Frampton Announces Farewell Tour

Legendary rocker Peter Frampton is ready to hang up his guitar. The celebrated musician announced his retirement from touring, which will be marked by one final outing dubbed Peter Frampton Finale – The Farewell Tour.

Kicking off June 18 in Tulsa, Peter Frampton’s farewell tour will consist of 50 dates spanning four months. He will visit major markets like Pittsburgh, Miami, Phoenix, Detroit, and Minneapolis before wrapping in San Francisco on October 12. Along the way, the guitarist has booked gigs at iconic venues like Madison Square Garden, The Forum and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Joining him on select dates are Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening, son Julian Frampton plus additional surprise guests.

Peter Frampton’s farewell tour is the swan song of an unmatched five-decade career. The singer’s musical success dates back to his teenage days as a frontman for The Herd and later, Humble Pie. He branched out as a solo artist in 1971, but initially saw limited success. His luck turned around with the release of his fifth album, the 1976 live cut Frampton Comes Alive! Bolstered by the success of singles “Baby I Love Your Way,” “Show Me the Way,” and “Do You Feel Like We Do,” the album went on to be one of the best-selling live records with more than 17 million copies sold worldwide.

Since then, Frampton has released over a dozen albums – his most recent being 2016’s Acoustic Classics. He has had a steady presence on the road, having toured with Stevie Nicks, Ringo Starr, Cheap Trick, and most recently, the Steve Miller Band.

Frampton now joins several of his rock pioneer peers who are giving up life on the road. Fellow solo artists Elton John and Bob Seger are in the midst of their farewell tours now, while bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and KISS have some of their final shows set to occur later this year.
