The wait is finally over. After months of teasing one-off performances, My Chemical Romance have officially confirmed a massive reunion tour.
The global trek will begin in March with previously announced sets at Music Festivals in Australia, Japan and New Zealand. From there, the emo titans will embark on a seven-date European leg in June and July before returning stateside for their North American portion. That month-long stretch begins September 9 in Detroit and wraps up October 11 in Las Vegas. MCR will pay visits to major markets like Houston, Oakland and Philadelphia on the arena outing. In addition, they will play a trio of fall festivals: Chicago’s Riot Fest, Atlanta’s Music Midtown Festival and Sacramento’s Aftershock Festival.
My Chemical Romance fans have been waiting on bated breath for tour news since the band first performed a one-night reunion show in December 2019. The “Teenagers” hitmakers were rumored as possible Coachella headliners following that sold-out performance. However, their schedule consisted of only overseas appearances until now.
The band – consisting of frontman Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero and bassist Mikey Way – spent over a decade dominating the punk-rock genre before splitting in 2013. They now join the likes of fellow rockers Mötley Crüe, The Black Crowes, and Rage Against the Machine, all of whom are embarking on anticipated reunion tours this year.
