Khalid has booked his first headlining arena tour for this summer. The Free Spirit Tour will bring the R&B singer to nearly three dozen North American cities, with rising pop singer Clairo joining in support.
Khalid will kick off the jaunt June 20 in Phoenix and remain on the road for two months before wrapping in Miami on August 17. Along the way, the 21-year-old will stop in Portland, Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, Washington and San Diego, plus Canadian markets like Montreal, Toronto and Edmonton. On July 31, Khalid will headline the marquee at Madison Square Garden, marking yet another milestone in the young artist’s career.
The Free Spirit Tour comes in support of Khalid’s forthcoming album of the same name, due out April 5. His highly-anticipated sophomore record has already generated plenty of buzz thanks to lead singles “Talk,” “Better,” and “My Bad.” Free Spirit follows Khalid’s multi-Platinum 2017 debut album American Teen, which earned the singer a pair of Grammy nominations.
Prior to the tour’s launch, Khalid will promote his new material with a number of major festival appearances. He’ll take the stage at Coachella April 12 and 19, then perform at Beale Street Music Festival and Hangout Music Festival in May.
