With the country’s youngsters now out of school on summer break, major league ballparks are capitalizing on that. Kid-friendly freebies are abundant across dozens of MLB games this month, from T-shirts and bobbleheads to back to school items. While the kids are one major focus, there’s plenty of great items for adults to enjoy too. Check out our picks for the best July MLB giveaways below.
Families who make their way to Angel Stadium this month can pick up Mike Trout shirts on multiple occasions. Kids can snag a youth fitted version of Trout’s jersey on July 8, 22, and 29 when the Angels take on the Dodgers, Astros, and Mariners, respectively. Adults can also get their own Trout shirt on July 10 at the Angels-Mariners game. Other notable giveaways for the kiddos are a Washington Nationals batting helmet and Fathead™ wall decal, the latter of which can be found at two Cincinnati Reds games this month. It may seem like they just finished the school year, but the Pirates and Tigers are ready to help prepare kids to go back to school, with a lunch box and water bottle among their monthly giveaways.
For adults, notable freebies include a gym bag (Houston Astros), pullover (Miami Marlins) and beach towel (Cleveland Indians). Regional teams meeting this month are celebrating by giving their crowds impressive giveaways as well. Floridians can pick up a beach tank top at Tropicana Field when the Tampa Bay Rays take on their instate rivals Miami Marlins, whereas Texans in attendance for the July 28 Astros-Rangers games will receive a T-shirt to celebrate the Lone Star series.
Sunday, July 22 proves to be the best day of the month to take in a game, as nine ballparks are giving away a variety of items.
