Iron Maiden are bringing their Legacy of the Beast tour to nearly three dozen North American cities for an extended stretch across the continent next summer, promoter Live Nation announced today.
The North American leg will launch in Fort Lauderdale July 18 and visit an additional 32 cities during the two-month run before wrapping in San Antonio on September 25. Cities on the itinerary include Boston, Cincinnati, Phoenix, Nashville, Portland, Las Vegas and Pittsburgh. The Raven Age will join the road in support on all dates, while Fozzy will serve as an opener for the band’s Los Angeles gig.
Iron Maiden will play a mix of both arenas and amphitheaters on the outing, which follows up a wildly successful 39-date European run earlier this year. All facets of the tour – including the set list and stage production – is inspired by the rockers’ mobile game, Legacy of the Beast.
Elaborate props and details accompany the concert based on the game, and the band relishes the energy behind it, as member Bruce Dickerson describes. “It is not that easy designing different worlds on stage and we put a huge amount of work into this to make it work and the end result we feel is our most spectacular and certainly the most complex show to date,” he said in a statement. “We’ve got all kinds of crazy things going on, including a replica Spitfire plane dominating the stage during ‘Aces High,’ tons of pyro, a giant Icarus, muskets, claymores and some truly marvelous flame-throwers which I have a hell of a lot of fun with, as you will see!”
