Veteran rock band Evanescence is set to join forces with acclaimed violinist Lindsey Stirling for a co-headlining North American tour, Live Nation announced today. The trek will bring the pair to outdoor venues across 31 cities throughout the summer.
The tour will commence July 6 in Kansas City and run through early September, making stops in Detroit, Cincinnati, Tampa, Dallas, and Phoenix among other cities. One Canadian show is scheduled for July 27 in Toronto.
Every set for both Stirling and Evanescence will be accompanied by a full orchestra, a fitting feature for the tour given Stirling’s classical violin chops and Evanescence’s recent revamped sound. The Amy Lee-fronted band went in a different direction for their last album Synthesis, which consisted of past songs in their catalog rearranged as orchestral tracks. The LP also featured two new tracks, including the Stirling collaboration “Hi-Lo.” The Grammy-winning rockers implemented a full orchestra on their fall Synthesis Live tour, which proved successful given the continuation of it on their upcoming jaunt.
Since launching onto the music scene in 2012, Lindsey Stirling has steadily grown in popularity for her smart fusion of classical, pop, R&B, electronica and other genres with the violin, owing much of her recognition to billions of hits on YouTube. Stirling’s latest tour came earlier this winter in support of her holiday album Warmer in the Winter. Prior to that tour, she appeared on season 25 of Dancing With The Stars, where she finished second.
