Powerhouse pop vocalist Christina Aguilera will hit the road for her first tour in over a decade, Live Nation announced today.
The jaunt will bring Aguilera to nearly two dozen cities this fall, beginning September 25 in Hollywood, Florida. She will travel across the country and back through early November with a concluding show also in Florida. Along the way, the singer will make stops in major markets like Boston, Phoenix, Oakland, Atlanta and Las Vegas. In addition, two-night stints are scheduled in both Chicago and New York.
The tour comes in support of Aguilera’s forthcoming album, Liberation, due out June 15. Fans have long awaited new music from the pop princess, whose last LP, Lotus, dropped in 2012.
Aguilera recently released her new single “Accelerate,” offering up a fresh, hip-hop laced sound thanks to guest features from Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz. The Kanye West-produced single gave a glimpse of the type of music fans can expect to hear on Liberation in contrast from Aguilera’s previous hits. Plenty of buzz surrounds the album’s follow-up single, “Fall in Line,” a duet with fellow pop songstress Demi Lovato and written by the up-and-coming Julia Michaels. Aguilera and Lovato will debut the track later this month at the Billboard Music Awards.
Despite taking a step back from recording the past few years, Christina Aguilera has remained in the spotlight for various other projects. She has appeared sporadically on The Voice as a coach alongside Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, and gave her hand at acting in musical drama series Nashville and The Emoji Movie.
