5 Must-See October 2024 Music Festivals

As the festival season continues, October offers an exciting lineup. From iconic headliners to genre-bending newcomers, these festivals offer immersive experiences with live music, art, food. Ticket Club takes a look at five music festivals happening this October that you won’t want to miss.

Austin City Limits Music Festival

Austin City Limits Music Festival is scheduled to take place October 4 to 6 and October 11 to 13 in Zilker Park. Over the span of two weekends, over 100 artists are slated to perform over nine stages at the annual Texas event. 

Scheduled to headline this year’s festival are Dua Lipa, Tyler the Creator, and blink-182. Other notable acts include Pretty Lights, Norah Jones, Kehlani, Foster the People, Vince Staples, Kevin Abstract, Reneé Rapp, Teddy Swims, The Red Clay Strays, Orville Peck and Remi Wolf. 

In addition to the musical acts, the event is set to have an array of interactive experiences, art installations, and local food vendors. 

Country Calling Festival 

Ocean City, Maryland is getting ready for the first Country Calling Festival, set to take place on October 4 and 5. The event is slated to take place at the Ocean City Boardwalk, with over 25 artists singing across three stages over the weekend. 

Set to headlines Friday are country stars Jelly Roll and Eric Church. Other performers include Riley Green, Warren Zeiders, Clint Black and Martina McBride among others. Saturday is scheduled to see Tyler Childers and Lainey Wilson headline along with Bailey Zimmerman, Brothers Osborne, and Tanya Tucker. 

Aftershock 

The Aftershock Festival is scheduled to return to Sacramento’s Discovery Park from October 10 to 13. Kicking off the festival on Thursday is a headlining performance by the reunited thrash-metal icons, Slayer. On Friday, Slipknot will take the stage to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Saturday’s show will be dominated by Iron Maiden with Mötley Crüe set to close out the festival on Sunday. 

Other notable performers set to perform are Rammstein’s Till Lindemann, Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin, Falling In Reverse, Five Finger Death Punch, Pantera, Judas Priest, Disturbed, Lorna Shore, Body Count, and Mastodon.

Best Friends Forever 

The inaugural Best Friends Forever Festival is slated to make its debut on October 11 to 13 in downtown Las Vegas. The event is scheduled to have a lineup with a mix of emo and indie rock on two stages with headliners Bright Eyes, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Cap’n Jazz. 

Other performers set to take the stage are The Jesus Lizard, Unwound, The Dismemberment Plan, Built to Spill, and American Football, The Murder City Devils, Everyone Asked About You, Fiddlehead, among others.

When We Were Young Festival 

Taking place at the Las Vegas fairgrounds, When We Were Young festival is set to return for its third edition on October 19 and 20. 

This year’s event will feature artists focusing on specific albums from their past, bringing the theme “When We Were Young” to life. Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance will headline, with My Chemical Romance performing their 2006 album The Black Parade. The Used will revisit In Love and Death (2004), while A Day to Remember takes on Homesick (2009) and Dashboard Confessional performs Dusk and Summer (2006). 

Other notable acts include Mayday Parade, Simple Plan, New Found Glory, and Pierce the Veil, each performing their most iconic albums. Emo favorites like Escape the Fate, Thursday, and Bayside will also perform, along with bands like Four Year Strong, Silverstein, and Coheed and Cambria. Additional acts include State Champs, 3OH!3, Hey Monday, and We Are The In Crowd, with Daisy Grenade and CARR rounding out the lineup.
