Summer’s in full swing, and with it comes a lineup of music festivals across the United States and Canada. From legendary country gatherings to rock and urban celebrations, July 2024 offers a festival experience for every music enthusiast.
Ticket Club dives into the highlights of ten must-see festivals happening this month.
1. Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic
Country music legend Willie Nelson is taking his annual 4th of July Picnic to Philadelphia this year. The event is scheduled to be held at Freedom Mortgage Pavillion. Nelson, Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Marren Morris, and Celisse are set to perform.
Additionally, the “Always on My Mind” singer is set to head back on the road for his “Outlaw Music Festival Tour” with Bob Dylan after health concerns. Nelson also recently released his latest album on May 31, titled, The Border.
2. Levitate Music and Arts Festival
Levitate Music and Arts Festival is celebrating its 11th edition in Massachusetts on July 5 through 7 at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
This year’s headliners are set to include Sublime, with original band members Erik Wilson and Bud Gaugh, featuring Jakob Nowell, along with Lake Street Dive and Mt. Joy. Other artists include Tash Sultana, Dirty Heads, Charley Crockett, Cory Wong, Iration, The Elovaters, Ziggy Alberts, and many more.
3. Country Thunder Saskatchewan
Country Thunder Music Festival in Saskatchewan, Canada, is getting ready for its 2024 edition from July 11 to 14. Set to perform over the four days are Dallas Smith, Nickelback, Phil Vassar, Lonestar, and Luke Combs.
This festival is also slated to mark its One-Millionth Fan – where one attendee will be designated as the One Millionth Fan and will receive two Platinum Experience passes with Artist Hospitality access for life, a golden laminated festival pass, an autographed artist guitar, and a prize pack valued at over $20,000 from the festival’s sponsors.
4. Country Thunder Wisconsin
Country Thunder Wisconsin is getting ready for a four-day event at The Concert Bowl from July 18 to 21.
Scheduled to take the stage on Thursday are Koe Wetzel, Randy Houser, Stephen Wilson, Jr, Dillon Carmichael, and Grace Tyler. Friday, Lainey Wilson, Kip Moore, Phil Vassar, John Morgan and Lauren Watkins are set to perform.
Saturday and Sunday performances will see artists such as Nickelback, Bailey Zimmerman, Eric Church, Elle King, and Jackson Dean among others.
5. Pitchfork Music Festival Chicago
The Pitchfork Music Festival is gearing up to take place at Chicago’s Union Park from July 19 to 21. Kicking off the festival on July 19 is the Black Pumas. Joining them will be an eclectic mix of artists including Jai Paul, 100 Gecs, Jeff Rosenstock, Yaeji, Sudan Archives, and Doss.
On Saturday the spotlight shifts to Jamie XX, with Carly Rae Jepsen and Jessie Ware. Additional performances from Unwound and Water From Your Eye.
Closing out the festival on Sunday is Alanis Morissette. Set to join Morissette are Brittany Howard, Muna, Grandmaster Flash, Jessica Pratt, and Joanna Sternberg.
Pitchfork Festival also offers attendees a chance to enjoy Chicago’s culinary scene, featuring local food stands and restaurants. Refreshments ranging from beer and wine to handcrafted cocktails will be available, along with opportunities to browse through craft vendors.
6. Faster Horses Festival
Known for its “three-day hillbilly sleepover,” The Faster Horses Festival is expected to put on its 11th edition, scheduled from July 19 to 21 at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan.
This year’s event features country superstars Jelly Roll, Hardy, and Lainey Wilson taking the stage for the first time. Additionally, the festival will showcase artists like Sawyer Brown, Ashley Cooke, Jackson Dean, Old Dominion, ERNEST, Tigirlily Gold, Riley Green, Tyler Hubbard, Cody Johnson, Alexandra Kay, Shane Smith & The Saints, DJ Rod Youree, and Zach Top.
The “Next From Nashville” stage is set to highlight emerging talents such as Tanner Adell, Avery Anna, Graham Barham, Sadie Bass, Annie Bosko, Aidan Canfield, Jade Eagleson, HunterGirl, Samantha McKaige, Meg McRee, Josh Ross, Austin Williams, Anne Wilson, Stephen Wilson Jr., and Jake Worthington.
7. Inkcarceration Festival
Inkcarceration, the only U.S. rock and tattoo festival, is returning to the Ohio State Reformatory for another head-banging event this July.
Scheduled to take place from July 19 to 21, this year’s headliners include rock staples Breaking Benjamin, Godsmack, and Shinedown. Other notable artists include The Offspring, Bad Omens, Halestorm, Chevelle, Prevail, and Parkway Drive.
8. FairWell Festival
Central Oregon is gearing up for the 2024 FairWell Festival, set for July 19-21 at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds. Headlining the festival are Billy Strings, Brandi Carlile, and Caamp.
Billy Strings is set to open the festival on Friday, July 19, with acts like Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Colter Wall, and more. Caamp will perform on Saturday, July 20, alongside Ryan Bingham with the Texas Gentleman, Leann Rimes, and Shakey Graves. Brandi Carlile is scheduled to close out the weekend on Sunday, July 21, joined by Whiskey Myers, Black Pumas, The Revivalists, and others.
New features for the 2024 festival include shaded barn areas, dedicated bars, and games for attendees to take advantage of between performances.
9. Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival
Milwaukee is getting ready for its second year, hosting the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival. The event is scheduled to take place at Veterans Park from July 25 to 28. Headliners include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jelly Roll, and Hardy.
Set to take the stage July 26 are Hardy and Jelly Roll. The Red Hot Chili Peppers slated to perform on July 27 with Offspring, Cypress Hill, Destroy Boys, Otoboke Beaver, and Irontom.
10. Broccoli City Festival
Broccoli City Festival is making its 2024 return, but this year, in a new location. Previously held at RFK Stadium, the festival will now take place at Washington, D.C.’s Audi Field in Navy Yard.
Set to take place from July 27 to 28, the festival is scheduled to feature Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, PartyNextDoor, Kaytranada, Victoria Monét, Key Glock, and many more.
Additionally, there will be live experiences throughout the weekend, such as “Trapsoul Karaoke” hosted by Bryson Tiller, “Soulection” with Joe Kay, “CoCo Butter” with Uncle Waffles, and “HoeDown” with Tanner Adel.
