The Harry Potter<\/em> franchise has seemingly taken over the world, except for one place: Broadway. But it looks like that is about to change.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child<\/a><\/em> is in talks to become a staple of Broadway’s Lyric Theater in the near future. The hit two-part play, which has been selling out London’s Palace Theatre since its July debut, follows the titular wizard and his son’s lives, picking up 19 years after the conclusion of the series’ final novel Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Lyric Theater currently houses Cirque du Soleil: Paramour<\/a>, which has scheduled performances from now through April 2017. However, the theater has announced plans to undergo renovations to provide a more intimate setting for the Potter play and other future shows, lowering the seating capacity from 1900 to 1500.<\/p>\n

Author J.K. Rowling had developed the latest story for the stage along with John Tiffany and Jack Thorne, and to satisfy dedicated fans around the globe, the play’s script as well as synopsis were published earlier this year–selling over two million copies in North America alone.<\/p>\n

Since its opening at the Palace Theatre<\/a>, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child<\/em> has been a massive critical and commercial success, setting up a potential smash hit upon its eventual transition to Broadway.<\/p>\n
