Five years after dropping her smash album 25<\/em>, Adele is prepping new music. The singer revealed<\/a> at a friend’s wedding that she has an album on the way later this year to the delight of millions. Fans are understandably ecstatic over the comeback having eagerly awaited an album and new Adele tour for years. But if and when new music drops and Adele hits the road, it’s likely she’ll break several records. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Adele’s music records speak for themselves. Her first three albums were global chart toppers, achieved multi-Platinum status in the U.S. and earned her 14 Grammys. Hit singles “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You” and “Set Fire to the Rain” simultaneously sat in the top 10 of the Billboard<\/em> Hot 100, making her the first female solo artist to achieve the feat. She even scored the longest-running female No. 1 album in the U.S. when her sophomore LP 21<\/em> topped the chart for 24 weeks. But perhaps even more impressive is her touring figures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much like her career trajectory, Adele’s tours have only grown bigger. Her first outing, dubbed “An Evening With Adele,” ran from early 2008 to mid-2009. The tour featured a sizable 48 North American shows. However, every venue – aside from a final tour stop at the Hollywood Bowl – had small-scale capacities of no more than 5,000. To support 21 <\/em>in 2011, Adele embarked on a another tour which visited a mix of theaters and few arenas. Unfortunately, several gigs were canceled due to her suffering from strained vocal chords, leaving only 20 North American shows scheduled. Once she hit the road in 2016, however, it was a different story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Adele Live 2016” blew away the competition and was the year’s biggest tour. It consisted of over 120 shows, including 58 in North America. Those few dozen shows were the overwhelming best-seller of the secondary ticketing market in 2016 and came in extraordinarily high demand. As a result, that demand drove up the price of tickets to see the singer. Ticket Club data found that across all shows, fans paid an average of just under $450 per ticket. The tour’s best-selling show was a sold-out gig at Madison Square Garden, which drove ticket prices up to a monumental $597 on average. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adele vs. Other Female Pop Stars<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In comparing Adele’s mammoth 2016 tour to other female pop stars, the English star holds the most influence. According to our internal database, Adele’s 2016 tour sales dominated her peers’ latest tour figures. Adele concert sales made up 30 percent of the bunch, while Beyonce’s last solo outing, 2016’s Formation World Tour, pulled 21 percent. Pink’s massive, ongoing Beautiful Trauma Tour<\/a> nabbed about a fifth of all concert sales thus far, but could grab even more in its final weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lady Gaga has proven to be a best-seller in Las Vegas<\/a> and her 2017 Joanne World Tour was a hit as well. Mother Monster earned 14 percent of total sales on her latest venture, while Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour<\/a> didn’t quite live up to her reputation as a best-selling performer. Swift carried 10 percent of compared concert sales while Katy Perry scored half that on her Witness Tour<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A New Adele Tour: What Is Most Likely<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It’s very possible that Adele might exclusively headline stadiums on her next tour. This seems like the likely move given her upgrading of venues on her previous tours and increasing success. Stadium shows will likely lower ticket cost given the sheer volume of fans they can accommodate. However, this does not necessarily mean demand for tickets will drop off.
