The spouses will star in a revival of Neil Simon&#8217;s <em>Plaza Suite <\/em>next spring<em>,<\/em> in which they will portray three couples. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The revival will first take over Boston&#8217;s Colonial Theater, which also housed the original 1968 production. It will remain there for a 22-performance stint before making the move to Broadway. It is set begin previews in March at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketclub.com\/venues\/millennium-hudson-theatre-tickets?allLoadMore=2\">Hudson Theater<\/a> and officially open on April 13 for a 16-week run.<\/p>\n<p><em>Plaza Suite<\/em> is not the first time the veteran actors will share the Broadway stage. They previously appeared in <em>How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying<\/em> in 1995 &#8211; two years before they wed. While their acting credits are plentiful, the couple rarely work on the same project. Parker is best known for her various film appearances and TV role in <em>Sex and the City. <\/em>Meanwhile, Broderick is equally known for his films and work on stage, including a starring role in <em>The Producers.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Despite keeping their careers separate, the pair&#8217;s 22-year marriage will only add to their performances in the comedy<em>. Plaza Suite <\/em>tells the story of three separate couples all staying New York&#8217;s Plaza Hotel. Each couple is the subject of one act within the play.<\/p>\n<p>Not only is <em>Plaza Suite<\/em> a career milestone for Broderick and Parker, but a Broadway one as well. It is the first Neil Simon work to be revived since the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.playbill.com\/article\/neil-simon-comedic-playwright-and-commercial-powerhouse-dies-at-91\">legendary playwright&#8217;s death<\/a> last year, which Matthew Broderick in particular took to heart. The actor got his start in the industry by appearing in Simon&#8217;s 1983 production <em>Brighton Beach Memoirs.<\/em> He earned a Tony Award for the role and later starred in the sequel <em>Biloxi Blues<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s been very important in my life, so I&#8217;m glad to be in this spot of doing a play right after he died, and I hope we do him justice,&#8221; Broderick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/09\/10\/theater\/sarah-jessica-parker-matthew-broderick-broadway.html\">told the <em>New York Times<\/em><\/a>. &#8220;I&#8217;m absolutely certain other people will do his plays too &#8211; we&#8217;re one of many, hopefully.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Actor John Benjamin Hickey will direct the revival with Ambassador Theatre Group, Gavin Kalin Productions and Hal Luftig producing.<\/p>\n<p>Find <em>Plaza Suite<\/em> tickets <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketclub.com\/shows\/plaza-suite-tickets\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Art will soon imitate real life for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick.
