Avril Lavigne is ready to stage a big comeback. The pop-rock singer has announced dates for her upcoming Head Above Water Tour, her first headlining tour in five years. <\/p>\n

Lavigne will launch the trek September 14 in Seattle and remain on the road for a month before wrapping in Philadelphia on October 11. She’ll visit thirteen additional markets in between, including notable stops in Detroit, New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis. Lavigne will also perform a lone gig in her native Canada when the tour rolls through Toronto on October 6, though it’s unclear if she’ll add more shows throughout Canada.<\/p>\n

The tour comes in support of Lavigne’s sixth studio album Head Above Water<\/em>. The LP – which dropped earlier this year –\u00a0 propelled the 34-year-old back onto music charts with singles “Tell Me It’s Over,” “I Fell in Love With the Devil,” Nicki Minaj collaboration “Dumb Blonde” and the album’s title track.<\/p>\n

Lavigne’s return to the studio was a long time coming. She released her self-titled fifth record in 2013 and continued her reign as the Princess of Punk with singles “Here’s to Never Growing Up,” “Rock n Roll” and “Let Me Go,” a duet featuring her ex-husband, Nickelback<\/a> frontman Chad Kroeger. She supported that effort in a massive world tour that hit nearly 80 cities across three continents.<\/p>\n

Throughout her nearly two-decade career, Avril Lavigne has climbed the ranks to become the third-best-selling Canadian female artist, trailing only Celine Dion<\/a> and Shania Twain<\/a>. She has notched fifteen Top 40 hits in the U.S. and Canada, including No. 1 smash singles “Complicated” and “Girlfriend.”<\/p>\n
