Due to the restrictive nature of how fans can access tickets to the game, most have to turn to the secondary market if they want to check out the scene \u2013 and this year is shaping up to be a pricey night on the town. Through Thursday, the average price of a single ticket is $2,113 on TicketClub.com \u2013 and presumably far more on other marketplaces once you tack on all their fees. That average is well above the historical trends, a full 27% over the next highest average price we\u2019ve seen in recent years.<\/p>\n

At Ticket Club, the current \u2018get-in\u2019 price for a member is $749, with a median ticket going for $4,725 right now. At the top end of the market, we\u2019re seeing $20,475 as the ask for a ticket on the lower level sideline. Compared to other markets, Ticket Club\u2019s get-in is over $100 less than the lowest price ticket after fees at StubHub ($847.05) and a whopping $534 less than the get-in on Vivid Seats ($1,283). Comparing directly, a ticket in Section 208, Row K is $1,349 for a Ticket Club member, $90 less than the same section and row on VS ($1,439.59 after fees) and $120 and change less than that spot through StubHub.<\/p>\n

Ticket Price Breakdown by Seat Location<\/h2>\n

As one might expect, tickets are going at the highest premium for seats close to the action along the lower sidelines. A ticket down there will range from $4,909 to over $20K for the fan with a lot of disposable income. NBA All Star Game Price Trend<\/strong><\/p>\n

Much of the sky-high prices we\u2019re seeing for this year\u2019s game stems from some big purchases in June, September and November. In November alone, the average order price spiked to over $17,000. The averages for both tickets and orders have since come back to earth, but it looks as if the overall average is going to remain far higher than in years past.<\/p>\n

\"NBA<\/a><\/p>\n

As you can see, the 2019 game has run at an average much higher throughout the year leading up to tip-off, compared to the previous four years. By June, the average price paid by fans for a single ticket at Ticket Club was $2,025 \u2013 an increase of 40% over last year\u2019s game in Los Angeles through the same period. At the end of January, that average was up to $2,156 per ticket, still 25% above last year\u2019s mark.<\/p>\n

In February, the average price has dropped a hair over 2%, but that drop is far below the average February drop in recent history, which is closer to 21%. To be fair, much of that average is due to the rapid slide in price of the 2017 game, which was relocated from Charlotte to New Orleans at the last minute due to the implementation of an anti-trans bathroom rule by the North Carolina legislature. Even ignoring that year, the average price in February has tended to fall substantially, and this year appears to be avoiding that trend (at least so far).<\/p>\n

NBA Rising Stars Challenge<\/h3>\n

Far more affordable than the Saturday and Sunday headliners, Friday\u2019s NBA Rising Stars Challenge is seeing tickets go at an average price of $168. That game features some of the emerging stars of the game in a USA vs. World format. Reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons headlines the World squad.<\/p>\n

NBA All Star Practice and Media Day<\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a chance to see the stars but can\u2019t stomach the big ticket price of the actual contest on Sunday, Saturday\u2019s practice and media day affords you a shot at just that, with an average sold price of $118.<\/p>\n

NBA All Star Celebrity Game<\/h3>\n

Friday\u2019s Celebrity Game kicks off the All-Star weekend, featuring a mix of celebrities and players with ties to the Carolina region. Former Duke star Jay Williams headlines the \u201chome\u201d squad, while UConn and Seattle Storm star Sue Bird coaches the \u201caway\u201d squad.
