World-renowned composer Andrew Lloyd Webber has another gift to give theatre fans: his first memoir.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The autobiography, aptly titled Unmasked<\/em> in a subtle nod to The Phantom of the Opera<\/em><\/a>, will explore the composer’s early struggles and achievements both in his personal and professional life. In a statement, the book will also detail the exclusive creative process behind each of Lloyd Webber’s musicals, which include The Phantom of the Opera, Evita<\/a>, Jesus Christ Superstar<\/a>, CATS<\/a><\/em>, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n Upon its March 2018 release, Unmasked\u00a0<\/i>will feature anecdotes about Lloyd Webber’s artistic influences and celebrity confidants like Richard Rodgers, Barbra Streisand, Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, Judi Dench and Richard Branson among others.<\/p>\n Throughout the course of his five-decade career, Lloyd Webber has been the recipient of the seven Tony and Olivier Awards, four Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for his work. He has also been inducted in the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, earned a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and been a recipient of the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors for the arts and culture.<\/p>\n His timeless musicals have also broken their own records, mainly\u00a0The Phantom of the Opera, <\/em>which is\u00a0the longest-running show on Broadway with over 12,000 performances and counting since opening in 1988; it was also the highest-grossing production until 2014, earning over $5 billion from its remarkable run.<\/p>\n Just last year, Lloyd Webber had four productions running simultaneously on Broadway: Phantom, School of Rock, CATS<\/em>, and Sunset Boulevard<\/em>.<\/p>\n March 2018 will see the release of \u2018Unmasked\u2019, Andrew Lloyd Webber\u2019s first memoir.
